Awesome Athletes!

Well done to the Simon de Senlis ‘Sports Hall Athletes’ who recently competed against other schools from across the town at The Duston Sports Centre.

A mixture of boys and girls from Y5/6 took part in a multitude of running, throwing and jumping events.

They truly excelled and participated fiercely against their peers and out of 25 schools, finished very respectively in the top 10 – progression from last year’s performance.

Well done children, your school is very proud of you!

Artful Archers…

The Y3/4’s had a fabulous time with Miss Bland at Kingsthorpe College last night as they tried their hand at archery.

A fantastic opportunity for all children to access, it was a unique experience that thoroughly engaged the children.

Well done to al the children who took part and represented the school so well.

Your school is very proud of you.

What A Team!

Our magnificent 5/6 footballers battled hard on a bitterly cold night in Corby last week as Simon de Senlis competed in the NSSP County Finals.

After successfully winning our qualifying tournament before Christmas, we progressed one step further than last year’s success and faced the best teams from across the county.

We successfully qualified from the group stage with three wins and a draw thanks to goals from Tom and Archie and an incredibly tight defence of Liam in goal and the tenacious George B and Luke.

Our attacking prowess continued as we negotiated our way past Woodvale in the semi-final. Kieran and Olcay were incessantly trying to find their way through a packed defence and Isaiah worked tirelessly to ensure we always had plenty of cover at the back.

Tom’s extra-time ‘Golden Goal’ led to rapturous celebrations and paved the way to a final showdown with…St. James!

Led by skipper George K, showcasing his versatility in a more defensive role, we bravely battled against quick-moving attacks. Tom came so close to giving us the lead as the keeper superb spread himself to beat out his effort when through one-on-one, before the heartache of two goals in the final 30 seconds ended our challenge. The first goals we conceded in the whole tournament.

Boys, your guile, style and determination never ceases to amaze me. Your school is incredibly proud of you…you’re an example to everyone.

Many thanks also to all the parents who attended and supported the boys.

Vive Les Fleurs!

Make Your Shopping Go That Little Bit Further…

We are currently collecting the Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers – a great initiative.

So, if you’re a Sainbury’s shopper, please send in the rewards as they help provide excellent resources with which we can use to further support the children.

Being active and enjoying PE is a very important part of our school’s ethos, any contributions will be warmly received.

Many thanks.
